Starting on April 5, the group Frontline Dignity sponsored a march from the Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) office in Pittsburgh to the Moshannon Valley ICE Detention Center near Phillipsburg, PA. On Sunday, April 12, the group reached the facility and held a rally to raise awareness of the abuses in the detention centers.
Ice Facility
Above is a video I took before the group arrived. I rode my bike up to the facility. As I was riding up a woman named Jeri drove up and told me what she saw. She rode up behind me.
There was a technical issue with my GoPro after I spoke with her at the 3:46 mark. The video played at a high rate of speed and there was no audio. I had to slow the video down to make it viewable. In it a security guard came out and told me to leave the property. I could see the detainees behind a barb wire fence wearing what looked like yellow hats.

After riding up to the facility I rode over to greet the group as they arrived. The video was still recorded at a high rate of speed and had to be slowed down. Unfortunately, there is still no audio. I counted a group of 30 marchers. There were reporters and people who marched for the day among them. They said that there were not that many hecklers. Conor Lamb did join the marchers for one day of the march.
Ice Rally
When the group arrived, another group of musicians came and performed. The group’s leader is Jaime Martinez who spoke in the video above. After that Carlos Mora, a Colombian immigrant from Erie, spoke and read aloud the names of 47 people who died while in ICE custody. This time I had audio and did not have to slow the video down. The Moshannon Valley ICE detention center is managed by the GEO Group.
