We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
The dilemma of our times: cut Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. We’re a broken society that asks concessions from vulnerable citizens. I confidently say those who hold the scissors have no direct knowledge of life with a disability, need extensive healthcare, and do not work for substandard wages. Walk a mile in someone’s shoes before proposing absurdities.
Blatant hypocrisy stands in the family values mentality and planned healthcare cuts to families and older populations. Do our elected officials see themselves speaking from two mouths in a mirrored reflection? Or are mirrors avoided to justify vile acts?
A broken healthcare system serves shareholders, not its patients. Proposed work requirements to continue healthcare coverage don’t reflect a mile walked in another’s shoes. Cuts to programs promoting health and well-being aren’t in the best interest of a healthy society. In a KFF poll, 76% of the public opposes major cuts to Medicaid.
If humankind does not care for its humans, how can one care for the planet in which we live? It’s obvious, with the cuts to our park’s system and rape of our natural resources, that there is no care for our home, Earth.
Why avoid the clear-cut solution? Cut welfare for the wealthy and corporations to uplift society. Resurrect the American dream. Under the current circumstances, that dream is dead, and our planet may soon be, too.
Do not let cowardice, a blind eye to justice, greed, and self-service, in opposition to a vow of service, stand in the way of a better world vision for we the people of the United States.
Do what is wise, just, and courageous. Serve we the people.
And if you proclaim your Christianity, live it.
