Rage Against Unmet Needs

Last Saturday I went to the Rage Against the Regime protest in downtown Johnstown. I interviewed some of the participants in the video above. Groups like Indivisible organized the rally. Previously I posted on the unmet need score (UNS) for 708 zip codes in the Alleghenies. These zip codes are seen in the map below. A high need area has a UNS of 75 or above. Accordingly, this post will present high need zip codes in the area to help you to Rage Against Unmet Needs in your area.

Below is a table with the 57 zip codes with a UNS of 75 or more. Above all Downtown Johnstown has the highest UNS in the area at 96.07. After that in Johnstown are 15906 (West End of Johnstown) and 15902 (Moxham/Hornerstown). Additionally Pittsburgh has several zip codes listed. Some of the municipalities on the table you may recognize, others you may not. Presented are the zip code, municipality name, UNS, population and percentage of the zip code below 200% of the federal poverty level, and the all cause mortality rate of deaths per 100,000. Seven of the zip codes have missing mortality rates. Next up is a look at why these zip codes have unmet needs.
