The Need for Good Journalism

Mila Sanina of Public Source

The first 6 months of Allegheny Independent Media have been productive. This week has been busy so this is my first post of 2023. I have been trying to line up interviews. One is set up on Tuesday with David DeAngelo of the blog 2 Political Junkies that I will post on Wednesday. I have been trying to line up interviews but sometimes people are slow to respond.

One interview I have tried to get is Mila Sanina. She emigrated to from Kazakhstan. She interned for the PBS Newshour, was a columnist and editor for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and founded the online magazine PublicSource. You can see her in the above video from TEDx Pittsburgh talking about the need for good journalism.

Of the 31 posts on this website since the launch in July, ten have been interviews. There is good journalism and bad journalism out there. In the coming year, Allegheny Independent Media will be creating an advisory board and looking for new contributors to broaden our reach. Any feedback from our readers is welcome. This is to better fill the need for good journalism.
