This is an update on the Fundraiser at Studio 404. With one week to go, it will be from 7pm to 9pm at 404 Messenger St., Johnstown, PA 15902 on February 28. It is a block away from the old Meadowvale School (now East Side Elementary).
Tickets can be purchased in advance at this website or at the door. If you cannot make it to the fundraiser, donations can be made at the same site. At first Rachel Allen will play music and Hors D’Ouerves will be provided. Finally, a video montage will be presented of interviews we have done and events we have covered. A preview of the video is presented below.
The Alleghenies are becoming news deserts with local news papers closing or being gobbled up by giant news conglomerates. We need to move toward non-profit media models to fill the void.
Since starting the website in July 2022 we have had more than 16,213 page views from 11,167 unique visitors for 145 posts. There is interest in more comprehensive news coverage of the issues facing the area. This update on the fundraiser at studio 404 is to show you the possibilities for change in the area.
