Bill Clinton and Bob Casey campaigned in Johnstown on Tuesday and Wednesday, one week before the election.
Bill Clinton
With this nail-biting election coming down to the wire, Former President Bill Clinton made a campaign stop here in Johnstown for Kamala Harris. Above is WJAC TV’s video of his speech. Speakers also included Former GOP congressman Joe Walsh, Lt. Governor Austin Davis, and David Thornburgh (son of Republican Governor Dick Thornburgh). I took video of the surrounding event. I was unable to stay for the whole event. Thornburgh’s speech is in the video below. The others are in the video above.
There were reporters from Fox News, WTAJ, WJAC, and an outlet from France covering the event. The lineup of speakers suggested that they are aggressively going after never Trump Republicans. I was told to stand on the media platform.
Bob Casey
Senator Bob Casey came to Johnstown one day after Clinton. He is pictured above with former Ms. Wheelchair Pennsylvania Barb Zablotney. He spoke about domestic issues and went canvassing with volunteers. I was unable to attend and if I did I was told not to try to interview him. According to Real Clear Politics Polling average, Casey has a better chance of winning the state with a 2.4% advantage over David McCormick than Harris who is 0.4% behind Trump.
The week before Clinton and Casey campaigned in Johnstown, I met with Spanish journalist Lucas Proto who was investigating the political divide in the U.S. He was nice enough to buy a copy of my book and used some of the numbers from it in his article. It is likely that the foreign and national press will once again descend on the area like it did in 2016.
