On Monday I sat down with local author Hilary Hauck for an interview. She is one of the organizers of the 2024 Festival of Books in the Alleghenies. Allegheny Independent Media is a media sponsor for this event. It will be on September 20 & 21 in Ebensburg, PA.
Day one of the Festival
The first day will be a fundraiser for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library at the Cambria County Courthouse from 6pm to 9pm. The imagination library provides books for children 5 and under. The keynote speaker will be Bishop Carroll graduate and best-selling author Jennifer Haigh. Her book Mercy Street won the 2023 Mark Twain American Voice in Literature Award.
Day Two of the Festival
On the next day the book festival will commence in the park next to the old county jail building in Ebensburg from 9am to 5pm. There will be more than 50 local authors that you can meet and get an autographed copy of their books. We will be livestreaming the event. There will be food vendors at the 2024 Festival of Books in the Alleghenies. The festival will be held at Bishop Carroll High School if it rains. Altogether, a good time will be had by all book lovers. There will be games for the children plus a trivia contest for them.
