This week (Sept. 18-24) has been declared banned books week by the American Library Association. Above is a graphic from them detailing the complaints to local libraries, schools and other institutions about certain books, signings by authors, and films.
This Friday I will be at the Cambria County Library to give a reading from my book Wuthering Depths in Johnstown: By the Numbers. The book has been banned by the Johnstown Area Heritage Association. The reason that they gave me for this was because I discussed the numbers surrounding the Catholic Church sex abuse scandal and other crime statistics. They said that this would be inappropriate for children. I doubt that many children would want to read it anyway. You can see a discussion of my book below along with the cover art for banned books week.

**Update**
Here is the reading from my book at the Cambria County Library last night for banned books week.
